Ability of Drosophila Melanogaster from Natural Populations to Adapt to Anthropogenic Genotoxicants

The results of long-term studies of the ability of the inbred population of Drosophila melanogaster living in a vegetable store to adapt to the genotoxic effect of a half-lethal dose of benzotriazole are presented. A part of the imago was taken from the population, afterwards they were bred on a standard fodder used for the Drosophila laboratory lines, this was done every ten years from 1980 to 2010. Female and male imago were separately subjected to a single exposure to benzotriazole in a semi-lethal dose.

Dynamics of the Number and Current State of Population Red-footed Falcon (Falco Vespertinus Linnaeus, 1766) in the North of the Lower Volga Region

The abundance dynamics of Falco vespertinus is considered on the basis of our field surveys carried out within the Saratov region and adjacent territories in 2011–2016 and analysis of the literature data. It is shown that F. vespertinus is now presented by stable populations in the spacious territory of the Trans-Volga part of the region. However, some reduction of its abundance was registered here for the last several decades of the 20th century. Currently, the falcon populations in the Volga right-bank region can be characterized as mosaic, and the F.

Morphological Variability in Populations of Chondrilla L. (Asteraceae) in European Russia

The morphological variability in populations of Chondrilla was subject to the numerical analysis using the unweighted pair group method with arithmetic mean (UPGMA). The study showed that out of the seven species of the genus found in European Russia, it is only C. ambigua that has the status of undoubted species. A distinct difference is observed between the two groups of populations: the first group comprising C. juncea, C. latifolia, C. brevirostris, and the mixed population of C. juncea/graminea; and the second group comprising the populations of C. graminea and C. acantholepis.

To Biology of a Rare Species of Primula Farinosa L. in Ritsinsky Relic National Park (Abkhazia Republic)

Research of eight populations of a rare species Primula farinosa L (syn. Р. algida auct. fl. colch.) in Ritsinsky relic national park (Abkhazia Republic) is conducted. The studied coenopopulations are located at the height of 1645–2250 m above sea level. Total number of species in them makes about 2200 pieces. In the majority of morphometric parameters coenopopulations from the natural boundary Pyv. On vital state three populations are carried to prospering, two – to equilibrium and three populations depressive. Optimum conditions for growth of Primula farinosa are defined.
